Lebanese families killed by Israeli strikes, July 15th 2006, South Lebanon

Families in the village of Marwahin are said to have been told by the Israeli army at around 0800 local time that they had just two hours to leave.

Some 100 residents evacuated and headed for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) base to seek shelter, but were refused entry after officials were unable to confirm the warning by Israel.

Israeli aircraft raided the vehicles (two pick-up trucks). "The Israeli forces attacked them on the Shamma road and their bodies litter the road".

Medical sources have said around half the passengers were children or teenagers.

>> 23 were killed, all of them civilians, at least 9 of them were children...

How peaceful is a country that allowed a terror organization to accumulate 12,000 missiles and rockets within its territory?! Maybe the Prime Minister of Lebanon thought that with tons of explosions Hezbollah was getting ready to sign a peace treaty with Israel...

Please read some history.

- Hezbollah was created (and found popular support) as a result of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 and the killing of innocent civilians.

- The Lebanese Army was never allowed to expand nor modernize its arsenal, because of its proximity with Israel.

- Until 2000, the south of Lebanon was occupied by Israel, leaving 1 million refugees, mainly in the southern Beirut suburbs, thus fueling more popular support for the unofficial "resistance".

- In the 90's and until 2005, Lebanon was not independent and was submitted to the strategies of Syria (as a gift from the Bush father).

- After the Syrian withdrawal (april 2005), disarming Hezbollah was not in the hand of the Lebanese, but a part of a larger iranian-syrian-american-israeli deal (or conflict, for that matter).

The Lebanese people had forgotten how unjust and criminal the Israeli war machine was, and were getting ready for a durable peace. But now we're starting back from scratch.

Though I do believe Israel has 'over responded,' It has been simple to end this conflict from the beginning. Let the captured Israelis go and Israel would pull out. that has been stated over and over and over. The blood of the people are in hezbollah's hands.

This is exactly what Israeli terrorism is about: WE WILL KEEP ON KILLING YOU UNTIL YOU GIVE US WHAT WE WANT.

Definition of terrorism: Terrorism refers to a strategy of using violence, or threat of violence targeted against non-combatants to generate fear, cause disruption, and ultimately, to bring about compliance with specific political, religious, ideological, and personal demands.
